This week I have been working on my Neon Spin blanket. This was my first ‘spin-your-granny-square- blanket and I really enjoyed it. I made it up as I went along but you can see more details about made this here.
I loved working with these bright colours. You can purchase the yarn that I used here.
Today I finished this giant granny square. I completed 50 rounds of the granny square, starting and finishing with Magenta. My colour order was Magenta, White, Aspen, Lavender, Graphite, Clematis and Wisteria. You can purchase the yarn here.
I chose a border from ‘Round the Corner – Crochet Borders’ by Edie Eckman. I selected border #130 and am really please with the result. I used White and Clematis for the border.
My finished blanket measured approximately 103cm x 103cm.
I have just finished this baby-sized blanket (70cm x 82cm). It is really simple that you can scale up to the size that you want. To see further details on how I made this please see here.
I used Stylecraft Special DK (100% acrylic) in 4 colours : Magenta (100g), White (100g), Blush (100g) and Silver (200g). You can purchase this yarn here. You will need to purchase more yarn if you plan to make a bigger blanket.
Over the last few days I have been trying to do a few new things. I thought I would try the ‘corner-to-corner moss stitch’. I found there are a few tutorials on YouTube, and followed one. Here are a couple of my efforts.
Overall I really enjoyed this stitch and found that it worked up quite quickly. II liked the way that the stitch did not have big holes, but I did notice that I felt that the blanket felt a little stiff and rigid.
Also this week I started making more granny squares. I used Stylecraft Special DK (100% acrylic) in magenta, blush and white.
Now to decide on the joining colour (I have an idea, but I want to test it first!).
Hopefully, next time I will show you progress on this.
I finished putting the border on this giant granny square today. I was initially disappointed that I ran out of Grape colour yarn, as I wanted to do a larger border all in this colour. As it turns out I was very pleased with the row of Pale Rose to finish the blanket off.
