Video for the Modern Crochet Rectangle

Video for the Modern Crochet Rectangle has now been published and available on Youtube – this short video tutorial outlines how to make the Modern Crochet Rectangle, which is a variation of a Granny Rectangle. Easy to make and suitable for beginners, these rectangles can be part of a bigger practical project.

I am not very good at making video tutorials and working hard to improve this, as I know many people like to have a video tutorial. I still do not have the confidence to speak on my videos – hopefully this is something that I will start to overcome. Hopefully some people will find this video helpful.

Starting a new squares blanket design

I seem to have been working on this new project for ages, but I thought I would give you an update on where I have got to so far.

I started with these colours from the Stylecraft Special DK range – Pistachio, Meadow, Fuchsia Purple, Lemon, Blush, Pale Rose. I used hook size 4mm. The hooks I use are available here.

The pattern I used is a variation of the Granny Square, but the concept would just as easily work with the traditional Granny Square.

I have decided to use a contrast colour to make the bright colours ‘pop’.

Anyway, the update is that I am on the last few squares and will soon by looking to join the squares…..how do you think I should join these?
