Modern Crochet Rectangle

This pages outlines how to make my Modern Crochet Granny Rectangles which are an updated version of my Rectangle Granny. These are fun and simple to make and are a modern variation on my Rectangle Granny and are also an interesting variation of the traditional Granny Square.

A video tutorial can be found at the bottom of this page.

Making the Modern Crochet Rectangle

Each rectangle consists of a chain of 21, 1 row of double crochet and then 2 rounds of half treble crochet (htr) clusters (made up of 2 half treble crochet stitches).

A video tutorial showing how to make the rectangles can be found here.

The instructions for making the rectangle is as follows:

Round 2

Have fun with making different coloured rectangles.

I used these rectangles to make my Modern Crochet Granny Rectangle Blanket.
