The soothing Cotton Breeze Square is here, and it brings with it a delightful array of pastel colours. There’s something inherently calming about pastels, and when combined with the softness of cotton, it creates a perfect harmony.

One of the joys of working with crochet squares is the ability to mix and match colors and patterns. For this project I used Sirdar Happy Crochet. You can purchase this yarn here. These came in a wonderful box of 50 small balls (each 20g) in a range of colours.
I managed to make 6 of the Cotton Breeze Squares from each ball of 20g Sirdar Happy Cotton. I used a 3.5mm hook (I tend to have loose tension).

Written Instructions
- Make a slip knot, chain 6
- Dc in second chain from the hook and in each chain along to the end (work in the back bumps) [5 dc]
- Turn, ch1 (does not count as a stitch), dc in first st and each st along to the end
- Repeat step 3 a further 3 times [total 5 rows of dc]
- Turn, ch2 (counts as 1htr), 1htr in the first st
- Skip 1 st, 2htr in the next, sk1, 2htr in last stitch. DO NOT TURN, Ch2, 2htr in the same space
- Work down the side of the square, skip 1 row, 2htr in last stitch of the next row (work around the post of the stitch), skip 1 row, 2htr in the last stitch of the final row/foundation row
- Ch2, 2htr in same stitch
- Work along the bottom of the square in the foundation chain, skip 1 ch, 2 htr in the next, skip 1 ch, work 2htr in the last chain,
- Ch2, 2htr in the same space
- Work along the final side of the square, skip 1 row, 2 htr in the last stitch of the next row, skip I row, 2htr in the same corner space where you started the round.
- Work 1htr into the top of the beg-ch (this is worked instead of the chain 2 as it makes to loop on the hook in the right place for the next round)
- Ch2 (counts as 1htr), work 1htr in the same corner space just formed.
- Work along the top of the square with 2htr in each space formed by inbetween the htr clusters from the round below
- In the corner space, work [2htr, ch2, 2htr]
- Work along each of the next 3 sides with 2htr in each space and with [2htr, ch2, 2htr] in each corner until you reach the corner space where you stared the round, 2htr in this corner space, 1htr into the top of the beg-chain. Fasten off.
You can make as many squares as you like and play around with the colour palette.
