Dolphin Blue
This blanket has definitely been one of my favourite makes. I just adore the beautiful colours and the simplicity of the single colour Granny Squares means that this is a wonderfully relaxing blanket to make. You can find out how to make this blanket here.
Joining Granny Squares – join-as-you-go
When you have made a series of granny squares, you have to decide how to join your squares. You can do this by sewing or crocheting your squares together. My favourite method is the join-as-you-go method, which means a square is joined to adjacent squares whilst working the final round of the Granny Square.

Granny Squares Wall Hanging.
This project was a bit of fun – it was good to try something different and I had some odds and ends of 4 ply cotton that I wanted to use up. This is also the first wall-hanging that I have ever made, and I really just winged it. It is not perfect, but thought I would share the process with you.

Cotton Mini Squares
This week I have been using up some of my cotton 4ply yarn. The yarn that I used is Scheepjes Catona. The balls are 25g, but had been partly used for other projects. I cannot remember the colour names as the yarn labels have all fallen off. It is a good opportunity to have some colourful fun.
I used a 2.5mm hook to make these tiny squares. They are based on the Granny Square but have been adapted. This is the first round, before I tied the ends in. Each square is about 1.5cm wide.
This is after the second round.
I am planning to make something which requires the squares to be tight and quite rigid, hence the 2.5mm hook and the changes that I made to patterns so that the stitches are close together and the holes are small. Not quite sure how many rounds to add, but have the finished project all planned.

Strawberry Candy Squares
I love this blanket and it definitely one for me to keep. I love the wonderful bright and cheerful colours. Best of all, it matches my new sofa perfectly. The blanket is based on the traditional Granny Square, which is a firm favourite of mine. A total of 81 squares are joined using the wonderful red joining colour. You can easily make the blanket bigger or smaller by adjusting the number of squares you make. I added some tassels in each corner to give it boho vibe, but this is optional. Coffee Time Throw
I absolutely loved making this Coffee Time Throw. I love the mix of browns and pinks – and best of all they remind me of a lovely relaxing cup of coffee. The patterns is based on the traditional Granny Square. You can find the pattern/details here.
Cool Chunky Stripes
Oh dear, I have had a lot of IT issues recently (laptop died) and so have not been able to show you progress on a number of my recent projects. This Cool Chunky Stripes Blanket was lovely and easy to make and uses the herringbone half treble (uk) stitch – I used this for my Aqua Chunky Cushion too and love the stitch definition. Cotton Cushion Covers
I bought some cushion pads quite some time ago 30 x 50cm (12 x 20 inches) and had been dithering for ages in deciding what to do with them. I finally go round to making some covers to go over them with King Cole Cottonsoft DK. Find pattern/ details of this project here.
